Why I am running – Currently serving three-year term as Library Trustee. Currently serving as Chair, Library Finance Committee and Chair, Library Strategic Planning Committee. As Chair of the Library Finance Committee, I have been instrumental in dramatically increasing the Library’s investment rate of return while adhering to the Investment Policy. As Chair of the Library’s Strategic Planning Committee I have been privileged to be a member of a group that is dedicated to promoting the Library and the services it offers while listening to community members and their ideas. The work of this group will be instrumental in creating a long-range plan that will help the Library achieve growth and continue to be a valuable resource to the community it serves. I am running for re-election because I would like to ensure that the Goffstown Public Library keeps on it’s forward pace and is viewed as a place that people in the community feel welcome at.
I love books and believe that the earlier a child learns to love to read the more information they have access to. As a child I loved spending time at my local library and any spare moment I had would find me with a book in my hand. Many (well, not too many) years later I can still be found with a book in my hand. I feel I received a head start from having my parents read to me at an early age; not only was it quality family time, but it instilled in me a love for the written word.
I also have work-related budget experience. I currently am responsible for assembling the annual budget for my department, which exceeds two million dollars and I am responsible for tracking expenditures to ensure budget targets are met.
