New website provides vital budget information to voters

As an elected member of the Goffstown Budget Committee, I believe every resident in Goffstown is entitled to complete and accurate information regarding our town and school budgets. To that end, and in the interests of accountability and transparency in our local government, I have launched www.GoffstownBudgets.com as a free service to the community.

On this website, visitors can view and download both town and school proposed budgets, including current budgets and last year's actual budget expenditures. You will also find a complete listing of salaries for all our town and school employees, as well as relevant state budgeting laws and contact information for related elected officials.

During the course of the current budget season, I will continue to update the site with all relevant budgeting information submitted to the Goffstown Budget Committee by the Board of Selectmen and the School Board for public consumption. Subsequent adjustments to those budgets by the Budget Committee, line-by-line, will also be posted there as we progress towards the March 2011 vote.
