Kevin
Hodges: An Illegal Alien's best friend
By JOHN
HIKEL
N.H. Republican State Representative for
Goffstown and Weare |
As we celebrate our national Independence Day holiday in New Hampshire this year, illegal aliens will have a special reason to celebrate. On Wednesday, June 25 the New Hampshire House voted to allow illegal aliens (or must we say, “undocumented visitors?”), to collect payments up to $25,000 per person from the state-run crime victims’ assistance fund.
Every Republican state representative in the two House districts covering Goffstown and Weare voted against that legislation.
But Kevin Hodges, the Democrat representative from those two towns, voted to extend this new right to illegal aliens. Go to the state legislative website at
http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/nhgcrollcalls/ and look up the roll call for House Bill 601 to confirm.
The democrats' pro-illegal alien vote came even after it was pointed out to them in debate that over the next two-year state budget cycle, payments out of the fund will likely deplete it and prevent it from assisting all New Hampshire citizens who are victims of crime.
If you cannot find it in your heart to express your best wishes to Rep. Hodges this national holiday season, perhaps his new-found friends will surface
long enough to do so.
And you thought they were up in Concord just to raise taxes!
