There is no denying that turkey hunting is a challenging sport that requires a variety of skills and knowledge of the prey. My late friend and former co-worker at the then Chemfab Corporation, in Merrimack, Alan Nelson of Bow, N.H., was a first class turkey hunter who knew the sport inside out. Alan, traveled throughout New England giving seminars on the subject at sport shows. He was an instructor to account executive, Dan Hagler, and his two daughters, of Goffstown. He turned them into very proficient turkey hunters. He also took Chemfab Corporation’s chief executive officer, Wayne Montopoly, under hand and taught him how to successfully hunt wild turkeys. Although Alan passed away some years ago, there is still hope for those who would like to delve into the art of turkey hunting and need a mentor.
