Emu found
walking streets of Goffstown
GOFFSTOWN
- An emu that was walking through the streets of
Goffstown on Tuesday was returned to its owner Thursday
night.
The large, flightless bird was spotted on Gorham Pond
Road in Goffstown, where workers with the New Hampshire
Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals
tranquilized it.
The emu's owner saw a story about the bird and contacted
the NHSPCA. He said that the bird escaped from a
pen in Dunbarton, N.H., three weeks ago and is about 6
months old.
