Goffstown car
dealer charged with felony
GOFFSTOWN - Local used car dealer Kenneth White, 48,
of Goffstown, has been arrested for collecting $25,000 from a
Utah man for a car he never delivered.
White was arrested for theft by deception, a felony, and will
be arraigned in Goffstown District Court on September
18. He is currently free on $25,000 cash bail.
Several
months ago, White auctioned off a 1960 Jaguar on the
internet auction site eBay, police said. The car was
bought by a man from Utah, but never delivered to him.
the owner of the car was not aware of the deception,
according to Detective Kevin Laroche.
Laroche said the online sale happened several months
ago. After repeated inquiries about when he would
receive the car went nowhere, the buyer contacted the New
Hampshire Attorney General, who referred the matter to the
Goffstown Police Department.
Police
did not identify the used car dealership that White owns.
