Warden Appointed for NH State Prison for Women

GOFFSTOWN -
The New Hampshire Executive Council approved Governor John H. Lynch’s nomination of Joanne H. Fortier for Warden of the New Hampshire State Prison for Women in Goffstown.
Warden Fortier has served as Acting-Warden at this facility since February 2007.
Corrections Commissioner William L. Wrenn said, “I am pleased that the Governor and Executive Council agreed with my recommendation to appoint Warden Fortier to this position permanently. In the last eight months she has done an exceptional job managing this facility.”
Warden Fortier is a twenty-one year veteran of the Department of Corrections with experience in both a prison environment and in Probation/Parole. Prior to her February assignment she had served as Director of the Division of Community Corrections since December 2000.
