Villa golf tourney
raises $12K
GOFFSTOWN - Villa Augustina School raised nearly $12,000 in donations at its annual charity golf tournament on Oct. 10 at the Stonebridge Country Club in Goffstown.
The Feller Family Charitable Foundation, which has supported the golf tournament for the last six years, was the major sponsor of this year’s event. Special contests included prizes for longest drive, closest to pin, a putting contest and a hole-in-one contest where the prize was $10,000.
Players spent a day on the course and conversed with Villa Augustina principal Charles Lawrence, staff and board members about the Villa’s first year in its 90-year history as an independent Catholic institution.
“We are encouraged to see the generous response the Villa Augustina has received with this annual fundraiser, and hope that our future golf tournaments can equal this event’s enthusiasm and positive support for academic excellence,” said Dr. Greg Tracy, event chairman.
Stonebridge Country Club donated prizes and services totaling nearly $1,600 for the tournament.
“It’s great to be working with the new management at Stonebridge. They are as excited as we are to write a new chapter in the history of our organizations,” said Charles Lawrence, Villa Augustina principal.
The eighth annual benefit golf tournament will take place Saturday, Sept. 19, 2009, at 1 p.m.
