Man Killed In Crash
GOFFSTOWN
- A Goffstown man died yesterday when his van crashed into
a multi-car garage, which then collapsed on top of the
vehicle, police said.
Harold Lorenz, 63, died at the scene of the crash at 283
West Hancock St. in Manchester, near Wheelock St.
His wife, the only passenger in the van at the time of the
crash, was taken to Elliot Hospital for treatment of minor
facial injuries and later released.
Police said the accident occurred at 12:24 a.m., when
Lozenz' 1997 Ford Econovan crashed into the rear of a
detached multi-car garage that faces Wheelock Street.
Investigators said a preliminary investigation idicates
the van was traveling west on West Hancock Street when it
veered off the road, continued through a lot at 238 West
Hancock St., collided with a parked vehicle and then
crashed into the rear wall of a detached garage.
Police said speed and alcohol do not appear to be
factors. Police believe Lorenz possibly had a
medical problem just prior to the crash.
