Goffstown Historical Society Announces Schedule

The Goffstown Historical Society announces its 2009 schedule of meetings and Museum Open House events, all free to the public and held at the Society’s building at 18 Parker Station Road in Goffstown.
All meetings begin at 6:15 p.m. with a pot luck supper, followed by a business meeting or a special speaker at 7 p.m. Museum open house activities are held on weekends. This year’s theme is posters, programs and paintings by local artists.
The meeting schedule is as follows:
April 20 – annual business meeting.
May 18 – “A Visit with Abraham Lincoln” portrayed by Steve Wood
June 15 – “The Story of Moxie and Moxie Bottle House,” Merrill Lewis, speaker
Sept. 21 – “That Reminds Me of a Story” by humorist Rebecca Rule
Oct. 19 – Election of Officers with program to be announced.
Museum Open House Exhibit Schedule:
June 20 – 1 to 4 p.m. – Annual Strawberry Festival
July 18 – 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and July 19 – 1 to 4 p.m.
Aug 15, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Aug. 16 – 1 to 4 p.m.
Sept. 19 – 1 to 4 p.m.
On Saturday, Dec. 5, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with the museum decorated for the holidays, special gift items available, and with the Bedford Boomers available to operate our Lionel model train layout for young and old enthusiasts.
The Society Museum is available from April to December, upon prior arrangement, for group gatherings, group tours and individual historical research.
Membership is open and encouraged to anyone interested in our area history for annual dues of $12 per person.
