Historical Society
Announces Grant Award
GOFFSTOWN
-
The Goffstown Historical Society has received a grant from the
New Hampshire Humanities Council to sponsor a thought-provoking public program
titled “A Visit With Abraham Lincoln.”
“A Visit With Abraham Lincoln” will be presented on Monday evening, May 18
at 7 p.m, at the Society’s building, located at 18 Parker Station Road in Goffstown,
following a pot luck supper. Those attending are asked to bring a dish to share and their
own table settings.
This program, which is free and open to the public, will feature a talk by Steve Wood of the N.H. Humanities Council. He is actively involved in the field of
history, and welcomes the opportunity to promote this special interest. He will explore President Lincoln’s thoughts and talks, including commenting on
the Lincoln-Douglas debates, and he will deliver the Gettysburg Address.
“A Visit with Abraham Lincoln” is one of over 250 programs and exhibits available to organizations statewide, through the Humanities to Go! Catalog.
For more information, contact the New Hampshire Humanities Council in Concord at
