looking for volunteers
GOFFSTOWN -
Looking for volunteer opportunities in Goffstown?
If so, UpReach is the place for you.
Put extraordinary color in your fall season…secure the safety of a rider mounted on a palomino, help another to groom a pinto…assist in tacking a buckskin…volunteer at UpReach Therapeutic Riding Center!
UpReach needs volunteers to be leaders and side walkers in our therapeutic riding and driving lessons. As a leader you will maintain safety of horse and rider by guiding the horse through an hour long lesson. Side walkers walk and jog beside the horse and rider to ensure safety, while providing support and encouragement.
In addition to helping riders improve posture, balance, coordination, and joint mobility while riding, volunteers benefit from seeing firsthand how riders overcome their fears, develop responsibility for the horse, and increase self-esteem. Volunteering at UpReach is a personally enriching experience. Here you will meet friends, be out in the fresh New Hampshire air, and benefit from walking exercise! If you are looking for an even more vigorous workout…barn help is always needed and on the job training is available!
Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age and be able to volunteer one hour a week, for a minimum of 6 weeks. Volunteers must be able to attend a volunteer training session; however, no previous horse experience is necessary.
All training is held at the UpReach barn, 153 Paige Hill Road, Goffstown, N.H.
The next volunteer training sessions are scheduled for:
-
Friday, August 27, 2010 9 AM – 12 Noon
-
