Local man charged with armed robbery
Suspect Arrested After Standoff

The owner of a Manchester health food store said an armed suspect charged at her with a knife Tuesday afternoon and demanded money from her register.
Kim Groele said another customer had just left the Bonne Sante store
on Varney St. in Manchester when the suspect ran up to her at the cash register, stabbed at her and her keyboard and started screaming for cash.
"He came flying up the aisle with a knife in his hand, and he was just jabbing it across the desk at me, screaming, swearing at me to 'Open the drawer! Open the drawer! Open the drawer!' and so I finally did," Groele said.
Groele said she gave the robber some money and ran after him as he fled the store and got into a waiting car with a driver at the wheel. She said she was able to get a license plate and called 911.
Police were able to track the robber to a home at 15 College Road in Goffstown. They ordered everyone out of the house, and five people complied, police said.
"The suspect in this particular case chose not to," said Lt. Nick Willard. "He actually hid inside the basement, and the SWAT team was called in and had to negotiate his removal from the apartment."
The standoff lasted five hours. Police eventually arrested Logan Janas, 22, without incident and charged him with armed robbery.
Groele said that at first, she was in shock when approached by the knife-wielding robber, but she then got angry and followed him out of the store.
"I didn't really have time to think about it," she said. "I was just really mad."
Police said Janas could face additional charges. They said they are still trying to locate the driver of the getaway car.
