GOFFSTOWN
-
A 15-year-old New Boston girl was rescued
yesterday after she fell down an embankment in Goffstown and was unable to get out.
Goffstown police said they were called to the area of Glen Lake Medical Center at about 9:30 a.m. for a report of a woman behind the business who appeared upset. Officers couldn't find her.
About 11:15, a 911 call was made about a woman who might have fallen into Glen Lake.
Goffstown police and fire personnel checked the shore line while dispatchers tried to pinpoint the source of the cell phone signal.
The 15-year-old was eventually found on an embankment next to the lake.
Police said she had slipped down the embankment and became trapped because of the steep incline and brush.
The girl didn't fall into the water, but police said she was suffering from hypothermia.
She was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening.
