Police budget asks for 10% increase

GOFFSTOWN - The Goffstown police department is proposing a budget of $3,320,151 for 2008, up from the $3,046,077 that was approved for 2007.

The budget for the dispatch center, which the department runs, is $606,235, and the emergency management operations are at $3,501.

One of the main factors behind the nearly 10 percent increase in the police operations budget is the request for three new police officer positions, according to Chief Michael French.

French said an increase in the volume and complexity of criminal incidents led to the request.
