GOFFSTOWN - The planning board last night granted two key extensions to developments that have been delayed by court battles.
The board extended the allowable timeframe for the construction of a 218-unit mobile home park proposed for Tirrell Hill Road, which is being challenged in court. The board set Jan. 26, 2008 as the date when the developer, PD Associates, LLC must fulfill the conditions outlined in the conditional use permit it has for the property.
The board said the company must begin active and substantial construction by July 29, 2009 or the end of the litigation—whichever date comes first.
The board also decided to grant a 90-day extension to a conditional use permit for the redevelopment of the downtown mill into a residential and office complex with a riverfront café.
That project, also proposed by PD Associates, was delayed by court action, which has now been resolved, according to Karen McGinley, an attorney for the company. McGinley could not discuss details of the court issue.
McGinley said the company is now revising its plans for the project, after a town meeting vote prevented the town from granting an easement on public land for a private use. Such an easement had originally been envisioned as part of the project.
Planning board members last night said they want to review the changes before granting a longer extension.
