Smash-And-Grab Robbers Caught On Tape
Police
Say $3,000 Worth Of Scratch Tickets Taken
GOFFSTOWN - Police in Goffstown have
released surveillance video
they said shows two robbers who smashed a convenience store door and stole thousands of dollars' worth of lottery tickets.
Police said the A-1 Mart on Mast Road was robbed two weeks ago. Investigators said it took seconds for the thieves to throw a rock through the front door and steal $3,000 worth of scratch tickets.
Surveillance video released Thursday show two men police said they believe robbed the store. The video shows the men pulling up in a car and going into the store. One man headed off to the bathroom while the other bought a pack of cigarettes.
The two men spend about five minutes in the store. Police said the robbery occurred about an hour later.
"It was pretty apparent after watching both the video of the burglary and the previous video that they were casing the place out and had a plan and carried it out," Detective Sgt. Robert Marcoux said.
The storeowner said that he recently spent about $10,000 on new surveillance cameras after he was robbed a few times before. Eight cameras aim at various locations, including the clerk, the customers and the register.
Police said they have some leads on one of the men, but they are asking for the public's help in locating the other man. He was described as white, in his mid- to late 20s, about 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighing 175 pounds. He was wearing glasses and has a cross tattoo on his left forearm.
